Herbal Mutual Aid Directory

About the Directory:

A collective of herbalists have built an Herbal Mutual Aid Directory in support of folks across the southeast. We hope it helps folks find places to connect, either because they are looking for herbal services or because they are wanting to plug in and volunteer with other herbalists.

* For a general mutual aid listing, please see places like: https://popularresistance.org/mutual-aid-groups-mobilize-in-wake-of-hurricane-helene/.

This is a public directory and is shared across the web.  We are have a corresponding Google Map to help folks see the bigger distribution picture and to find projects near them. (We hope to continually expand this directory for future needs in response to climate change.)

What is Mutual Aid?

The phrase “mutual aid” is based on the philosophy that we are stronger when we collaborate with each other, when we share our resources, and when we work together for the common good. Often this philosophy is questioned and even belittled by the capitalist milieu that wears “survival of the fittest” across their chests with pride. But it is in times like these when we see capitalism for what it is – unethical and a detriment to the human spirit. As we witness the devastation wrought on communities across the southeast, we know that the only way forward is together.

The hardest hit communities are still in the early days of digging out from under the mud and the grief. Search and rescue is ongoing. Essential services are broken as are our hearts. And in our grief, as we witness these tragic events, we find our way to each other. We hold out our hands and ask what we can do. Mutual aid is love in action.
